Observations of Life in Times of Change
Has it ever occurred to you to wonder what a Parisian craftsman felt during the French Revolution? Or someone living in Galicia in the first decades of the twentieth century, born a subject of Austria and then — without once changing address — becoming a citizen of a newly created Poland?
Those were times of change — change not everyone understood, but everyone could see. I believe we are living through a turning of eras just as great, and I want to tell what it looks like from where I stand, in Central and Eastern Europe.
